All the latest transfer news surrounding Leeds United
Leeds United are preparing for life back in the Premier League next season.
Daniel Farke’s side earned automatic promotion and won the Championship title at the second attempt after narrowly missing out on a top two finish last year.
The Whites will be aiming to build a team capable of survival in the top flight, having lasted just three years in the division after their 2020 promotion under Marcelo Bielsa.
The summer transfer window will be key to that goal, and incoming signings will be a crucial part of their plan to compete at that level.
Here we look at all the latest transfer news surrounding Leeds as they plan for life in the Premier League…
Manor Solomon spent last season on loan at Leeds, joining in the summer from Tottenham Hotspur.
He proved a key part of the team, contributing 10 goals and 12 assists, which led to Football Insider reporting in March that the club are desperate to keep hold of him.
However, an update this week from Sky Sports Switzerland has suggested that the winger has given the green light to Marseille to pursue a move.
It has been claimed that Spurs are asking up to €20 (£16.8) million for the player this summer, but it remains to be seen whether the Ligue 1 outfit will match that figure.
Solomon has a contract with the Premier League side until the summer of 2028, but has struggled for game time under Ange Postecoglou.
Whether Postecoglou’s future has any bearing on the forward’s position at Spurs remains unclear.
It has been reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post that any deal for the striker will be difficult to pull off this summer.
It had been claimed by Sky Sports reporter Rob Dorsett that the 27-year-old was on the Whites’ radar following promotion.
However, any deal for the forward is now looking unlikely, with Everton hoping to hold onto Beto beyond the upcoming transfer market.
The Guinea-Bissau international has contributed eight goals from 28 appearances in the Premier League so far this season, with the Toffees 13th in the table.
Leeds are hunting for a new first-choice goalkeeper this summer after Farke’s faith in Illan Meslier was hurt by numerous errors this season.
The Frenchman was dropped following a 2-2 draw against Swansea City in March, and may never play for the club again, with Karl Darlow assuming the role of starting goalkeeper for the rest of the campaign.
This has led to a report from Teamtalk linking the Yorkshire outfit to Chelsea’s Djordje Petrovic.
The shot-stopper has spent this season on loan with Ligue 1 side Strasbourg, and has earned a lot of plaudits for his performances.
It has been claimed that the Serbian is on Leeds’ shortlist of potential options to replace Meslier in the squad for life in the Premier League.
However, Chelsea are still yet to make a decision on the player’s future, as they assess their own options between the sticks.
It has been reported by journalist Uriel Iugt that Leeds are among the clubs eyeing a deal to sign Orlando Gil this summer.
He is the latest goalkeeper option to be linked with the club amid speculation over who will be the next first-choice between the sticks at Elland Road next season.
However, the Whites face competition from Premier League rivals Fulham in the race for the Paraguayan.
According to El Chiringuito, Spanish side Real Betis have contacted Mateo Joseph about a potential move this summer.
Joseph featured 39 times for Farke’s side in the Championship last season, but made just 11 starts.
It remains to be seen whether he will be a key part of their plans in the Premier League, or if Leeds could be tempted into a sale for the academy graduate.
