It looks set to be a busy end to the January transfer window for Leeds United.
The Whites have enjoyed an excellent season in the Championship so far, and they are in a strong position as they look to bounce back to the Premier League at the first attempt.
Daniel Farke's side currently sit fourth in the table, two points behind second-placed Ipswich Town, and they are back in action when they make the trip to face Bristol City at Ashton Gate on Friday night.
It has been a quiet window so far for Leeds, with no new players arriving at Elland Road, but there have been a number of departures, including Luke Ayling, Darko Gyabi, Lewis Bate and Leo Hjelde.
With just hours to go until tonight's 11pm deadline, we rounded up all the latest transfer news from the club.
According to The Athletic, Leeds have agreed a deal to sign Burnley defender Connor Roberts on loan.
Roberts starred for the Clarets last season as they won the Championship title, scoring five goals and providing seven assists in 50 appearances in all competitions, but his minutes have been limited in the Premier League this campaign.
The 28-year-old has made 16 appearances for Vincent Kompany's side in all competitions, but he has not started since being sent off in the 3-0 defeat at Brentford in October.
Roberts is reportedly travelling to Elland Road for a medical, and the Welsh international will join the Whites on loan until the end of the season with no obligation to buy.
Bringing in a new right-back had been a priority for Leeds this month after Djed Spence was recalled by Tottenham Hotspur and Ayling departed for Middlesbrough, but Roberts looks set to be the solution to their problems.
While Leeds look set to complete a deal for Roberts, it seems they have missed out on three of their other defensive targets.
The Whites had been keen to sign Everton defender Ben Godfrey, but Football Insider claim that the deal has now collapsed after "extensive talks" between the two clubs.
Godfrey has struggled for regular game time at Goodison Park this season, but he started the Toffees' 0-0 draw at Fulham on Tuesday night, and after "receiving assurances from manager Sean Dyche", he is set to remain on Merseyside.
A move to Elland Road would have seen Godfrey reunite with Farke after the pair worked together previously at Norwich City, winning the Championship title in the 2018-19 season.
Leeds had been linked with Everton defender Mason Holgate, who is currently on loan at Southampton, but according to Sky Sports' Transfer Centre (01/02 12:22pm), the 27-year-old is expected to undergo a medical at Sheffield United this afternoon.
Holgate has made seven appearances in all competitions for the Saints this season, but he is set to swap St Mary's for Bramall Lane.
Leeds are also said to be interested in Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall, and The Mirror journalist James Nursey claims that the Whites and Sheffield United both made loan bids for the 27-year-old last night, offering to pay a fee and his full wages.
However, Forest would prefer a permanent exit for Worrall, and with the club reportedly valuing him at £6 million, that could prove to be a stumbling block for Leeds.
With deals for Godfrey, Holgate and Worrall now looking unlikely, Leeds have turned their attention to Leicester City defender Harry Souttar.
According to Sky Sports Transfer Centre (01/02 11:50am), Leeds have inquired about a potential deal for Souttar, but they could be set for further disappointment as journalist Rob Dorsett claims that the Foxes will not allow the 25-year-old to join the Whites as they do not want to strengthen a promotion rival.
Souttar, who is currently away at the Asia Cup with Australia, joined Leicester from Stoke City last January for a fee of £15 million, but he has made just four appearances in all competitions this season for Enzo Maresca's side.
Another defender on Leeds' list of targets is Newcastle United's Paul Dummett, as per Football Insider.
Dummett came through the Newcastle academy to establish himself in the first team, but his minutes have been limited at St James' Park in recent years, and he has featured just four times in all competitions for the Magpies this season.
