Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville still has no desire to leave Elland Road this month, according to a report from TEAMtalk.

The Dutchman has been in fine form for the Whites this term, registering 12 goals and six assists in 23 Championship appearances.

His contributions from out wide have been crucial in keeping the West Yorkshire side in the promotion mix despite their recent wobble - and Daniel Farke will be keen to retain the winger for at least the remainder of the campaign.

Southampton may have climbed ahead of them in recent times, but Ipswich Town have slipped up and that has opened up the automatic promotion race, something that will give the Whites some encouragement.

Leeds will be keen to avoid the play-offs after suffering heartbreak the last time they participated, as they fell to a 4-3 defeat to Derby County on aggregate.

Summerville's contributions could end up being the difference at the end of this term, but even though his contract doesn't expire until the summer of 2026, there has been talk about his future at Elland Road.

Football Transfers have reported that the Magpies have taken an interest in the Dutchman - and they are just one of quite a few Premier League teams to have been linked with him this term.

The amount of business Newcastle do this month may be restricted by financial fair play rules, but you'd think Eddie Howe would be given funds if there's room to manoeuvre.

However, the Football Transfers report reveals that it will be extremely difficult for the former AFC Bournemouth manager to get a deal over the line for the 22-year-old this month, even with the pair sharing the same agency.

Having scouted Summerville last year, the Magpies have retained their interest but he may be just one of several wing targets.

Crysencio Summerville is taking the right stance on his Leeds United future

Summerville probably acknowledges that Leeds are in a pretty strong negotiating position at the moment and can keep him considering his contract situation.

With this in mind, pushing for a move during this window would not be a wise decision.

It may also halt or disrupt his progress this term.

Willy Gnonto had his saga earlier this season and hasn't fully recovered since, although an injury didn't help him get into a rhythm.

If Summerville can continue to thrive and continue scoring at his current rate this season, a move away in the summer feels inevitable so he just needs to get his head down at the moment.
