In a recent report by LeedsLive, it was stated that Daniel James could likely exit Elland Road in the upcoming transfer window, given that Leeds United fail to save themselves from relegation against Burnley this Sunday.

It was also mentioned that Serie A side Atlanta could bring in the Wales international to Italy. They reportedly have picked up an interest in the Welsh attacking midfielder, should he decide to leave the Whites.

Daniel James’ Impressive Campaign This Season

James is having an impressive campaign at Elland Road as he has put up impressive displays for the Whites this season. The 24-year-old has found the back of the net on 4 occasions and secured 4 assists over 32 appearances for the Leeds outfit this season in the Premier League.

The Wales-born talent deserves credit for averaging 1.6 shots, 0.8 key passes and 0.7 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League. However, he needs to take care of the ball a bit better in the final third, as evident by his pass completion rate of 72.9% in the top tier of English football (stats via whoscored).

Should Jesse Marsch Let Him Exit Leeds United?

Unfortunately, the Whites are on the verge of losing a handful of players including Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips and on top of which they head into a decisive match against Burnely to bring themselves out of the dreaded relegation zone this weekend.

Daniel James has got the pace to be a looming threat for the opposition centre-backs. He can make some well-timed runs in behind the opponent’s backline and is also transforming himself into a prolific finisher in the final third. The talented attacking midfielder can even chip in by creating opportunities for his peers in front of the goal.

At 24, he still has many years to polish his skills and create an impact. He could certainly lead Jesse Marsch’s Leeds United to climb the Premier League table if they are not relegated this Sunday. Marsch should do everything he is capable of to keep him at Elland Road.

If the worst is to follow, Leeds United should brace themselves as key players could look to exit Elland Road as the transfer window commences this summer.
