Leeds United, Sheffield United, Norwich City and Coventry City are all tracking Liverpool's Bobby Clark.
Coventry City, Leeds United, Norwich City and Sheffield United are all interested in signing Liverpool’s Bobby Clark on loan, as they wait for the Premier League club to decide on the future of the midfielder.
The 19-year-old is highly-rated at Anfield, and he is attracting interest from RB Salzburg, who have had a £6m offer for the player rejected by the Reds.
And, The Athletic has also revealed that there is plenty of Championship interest in Clark, as they say Leeds, Sheffield United, Norwich and Coventry are looking to take the teenager on a temporary basis.
Clark featured in 12 first-team games in all competitions for Jurgen Klopp last season, with his most notable contribution coming in the League Cup final, when he played the final 50 minutes as they overcame a more experienced Chelsea side at Wembley to lift the trophy.
His potential has clearly been recognised by RB Salzburg, with the Austrian outfit managed by Pep Lijnders, who was assistant to Klopp, so he knows all about the player.
The latest update suggests that Liverpool want £12m for Clark, so it remains to be seen whether a deal can be agreed with the side who hope to reach the Champions League group stages.
However, it makes sense that Championship clubs are keeping tabs on this situation, as he is someone who could make a mark in the second tier.
Clark, who is son of former Birmingham boss Lee, is a technically gifted midfielder, and he is capable of playing in different roles, so he would be very useful over the course of a demanding Championship season.
If a move to Salzburg doesn’t materialise, it would be no surprise if Liverpool did sanction a loan for the youngster.
Even with his undoubted potential, Clark is realistically not going to play under Arne Slot this season, as there’s so much quality ahead of him in the pecking order.
Therefore, a loan would make a lot of sense, and Liverpool will assess the clubs that are in for Clark as they try to find the ideal team that will aid his development.
For the player, the chance to join any of the four teams mentioned should appeal, as they will all hope to be pushing for the play-offs as a minimum, with Leeds arguably expecting a top two finish.
This gives an insight into how difficult it can be for clubs to get business done, as in many cases you will be competing for the same players.
The four teams mentioned all want to strengthen, and fans of the respective sides will be pleased that they’re all looking to improve in midfield.
For Norwich, the likely departure of Gabriel Sara will increase their need for options in that area, whilst Sheffield United will feel they lack depth too.
