Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has given his first full interview, detailing his interest in taking over Italian side Sampdoria, who have already been relegated to the Serie B.

Samp are in financial trouble and there is talk of bankruptcy, with the club struggling to find a new owner after Massimo Ferrero. Yesterday, Leeds owner Radrizzani arrived at the club’s sports centre yesterday and he was there with Matteo Manfredi, with the support of Jordan Rocca, a young Genoese entrepreneur who lives in London and has always been a huge fan of Sampdoria.

They spoke to the club’s board members and also visited the Luigi Ferraris later in the evening. Today, Radrizzani spoke to Secolo XIX about his interest in Samp and revealed a lot of things about the visit yesterday.

He said: “We came to Genoa above all to get to know the Board, to introduce ourselves to them as professionals and to tell our background in sport and in the media. To explain our project, or rather our industrial plan for Sampdoria. We are ambitious. Aware of the history, culture and brand of this club. And of the passion and strength of its fans, who constitute a  great value.”

Entrepreneur Alessandro Barnaba has already made an offer and it is still standing. Manfredi and Radrizzani were at the sports centre for an hour. It remains to be seen who takes over the club when they play in Serie B and don’t go down further.
