Leeds United, Leicester City and Middlesbrough are among a host of clubs in England keeping tabs on Karamoko Dembele after his impressive loan spell at Blackpool.

Karamoko Dembele flourishes at Blackpool

The attacking midfielder is a name that many may recognise, as he came through the ranks at Celtic, and he incredibly played for their U20 side as a 13-year-old, which outlined his enormous potential.

Now 21, things didn’t really go to plan for Dembele with the Glasgow giants, although he did make a breakthrough into the first-team and made ten appearances.

However, he would then go on to join Brest in the summer of 2022, and he would make 15 Ligue 1 appearances during his first full season.

As he struggled to make an impact, a loan move was arranged, with Dembele joining the Seasiders this summer.

And, it has worked out well for the youngster, as he has been a key figure for Neil Critchley’s side this season, scoring seven goals and registering 12 assists in all competitions.

Along with the goal contributions, Dembele has shone with his close control and dribbling ability, which has made him a joy to watch at times for Blackpool.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, such form has attracted attention from other clubs, and HITC has revealed that several sides in the top two tiers of English football are weighing up a move for Dembele this summer.

“Under contract at French side Brest, Dembele has been a revelation on loan at Blackpool in England’s third tier. And his reward for a series of dazzling displays could be a move to the Premier League, Everton, West Ham United, Fulham, Brentford and Wolves all keeping tabs on a player who was linked with the likes of Chelsea before eventually leaving Celtic on a free transfer back in 2022.

“Leicester City, Southampton and Leeds United – three clubs with Premier League ambitions – are also interested. As are a Middlesbrough side who are looking to bounce back from a disappointing campaign.”

Any deal for Dembele would have to be agreed with Brest in the summer, as his contract with the French side runs until the summer of 2026.

It will be very interesting to see how it plays out with Dembele, as there’s no doubt he is a player with so much talent, but he needs to find the right club to allow him to develop his ability.

So, whilst the appeal of a Premier League club is obvious, Dembele needs to find somewhere that will allow him to play.

This season with Blackpool has been brilliant for the player after he seemed to struggle to find his way following his departure from Celtic.

Right now, the focus for Dembele will be on finishing the season with Blackpool on a high, with a top six finish very much a possibility. Then, a move could beckon, when the summer window opens.
