Dan James will prove to be the "perfect" Leeds United signing despite a large section of the fanbase calling for Noa Lang to join instead, according to JustJoe Football Show presenter Joe Wainman.

However, according to The Athletic's Leeds reporter Phil Hay, Bielsa had concerns over Lang's work rate despite director of football Victor Orta seeing the winger as a good prospect.

Former All Leeds TV anchorman Wainman has backed Bielsa's decision to purchase James instead of Lang, although he concedes a large chunk of Whites fans have the opposite opinion.

He told GMS: "A lot of the fanbase would've preferred Noa Lang just because it would have been a bit of a flashy signing.

"But one of the key things a lot of Manchester United fans said was that James gives 100 per cent and never stops running for a full 90 minutes.

"He's going to come on even further under Bielsa, so I think it's the perfect signing."
