Leeds United are chasing promotion to the Premier League and look the favourites to go up as winners of the Championship this season.
That has inevitably seen transfer rumours starting ahead of what could be a big summer window for the Yorkshire outfit.
Leeds will need to get the right signings in to strengthen their squad for the challenge of staying in the top flight, and one big name being linked with the club is Evan Ferguson.
Valued at around £45m, the Republic of Ireland international is currently on loan from Brighton at West Ham until the end of the season.
It’s been a difficult year or so for Ferguson as his form has totally nose-dived, and Leeds have been advised to stay away from this potential deal.

Discussing the links, former Aston Villa man Lee Hendrie said: “He [Ferguson] hasn’t really got going, he’s had injuries, hasn’t featured much for Brighton, and has gone out on loan.
“A £45 million price tag could be a bit of a gamble for a club that’s being promoted into the Premier League, rather than a more established striker who knows where the back of the net is.
“Yes, he knows where the back of the net is, but there’s always a worry when you’re spending that much money on a player who could get injured. He’s had that injury form of late.”
Brighton will no doubt want buyers for Ferguson, and West Ham probably won’t want to sign him permanently, so that could mean clubs like Leeds get this chance.
Still, it’s also probably true that LUFC would be better off not taking a risk on the out-of-form Ferguson right now.
