Byram was replaced by Ethan Ampadu with ten minutes to go, while Rodon suffered a bang to his knee in the second half, but the Leeds boss was quick to allay any fears about the defensive duo.

The win took Leeds back to the top of the Championship table for the time being, and with the busy festive period just around the corner, news that the pair aren't injury concerns will be well-received during an important part of the season.

In the aftermath of his side's 3-1 win over Boro, Farke delivered a positive update on both Byram and Rodon, and it looks as if Leeds supporters will have no concerns about their fitness looking ahead to their game with Preston on Saturday.

Speaking to The Yorkshire Post about Byram, Farke said: "He reported some cramp and had been back for just one training session after injury. I was hoping that Ethan Ampadu could see the game out in the last moments and apart from one or two passes, he was then also helping to bring this over the line and we’re happy to have him back."

Meanwhile, the Leeds boss made it clear that they couldn't afford to lose Rodon, and he delivered an update on the Welshman. He said: "He was hit on his knee and I think there’s a bruise and pretty painful. But he’s also a warrior and we couldn’t afford to lose him."

News that neither injury is serious will be a welcome boost, and with Ampadu also returning to the fold, Leeds will be confident of continuing their recent momentum as they look to return to the Premier League.

Both Rodon and Byram are important players for Leeds with a wealth of experience at this level, and Farke will need as many players like that to remain fit if they're going to challenge for the Championship title.

Rodon has started every single league game for the Whites this season, and everybody at the club will undoubtedly be relieved that the knock he suffered against Boro isn't serious because it could have been disastrous.

Leeds need as many fit players as possible during this busy festive period to allow for squad rotation, and the Elland Road faithful will be relieved by Farke's latest comments.
