Leeds United could look to appoint Patrick Vieira as their new manager in the summer, reports talkSPORT.

The Frenchman was sacked by Crystal Palace two weeks ago after a poor start to 2023.

He spent 20 months into the three-year contract he signed in July 2022.

Leeds had Vieira on their shortlist when Jesse Marsch was sacked in February.

The Arsenal legend’s stock remains high in the Elland Road boardroom despite his dismissal by Palace.

They could return for him at the end of the season, but it would depend on what happens with Javi Gracia.

The Spaniard signed a deal until the end of the season and will likely have his contract extended if he keeps Leeds up.

The Whites have improved under him, with two league wins, a draw and a defeat recorded since his arrival.

They have also played well even in their loss and stalemate.

Leeds went through a lot to get the former Watford manager.

Gracia was unable to start work immediately as he did not automatically qualify for a work permit under post-Brexit rules.

They finally sorted things out and have no reason not to hand him a longer deal if they survive relegation.

The west Yorkshire club are 14th in the Premier League after 27 games, with two points keeping them above the drop zone.

Leeds resume action with a game against leaders Arsenal on Saturday.

Gracia will be looking to shock the north Londoners, which cannot be ruled out.

Vieira wants to return to the dugout as soon as possible, and he has a solid Curriculum Vitae.

He led Palace to a 12th-place finish and the semi-finals of the FA Cup last season.

The Eagles also played some attractive football under him, and he could be back in the Premier League sooner rather than later.
