Leeds United are now considering a move for Angers midfielder Azzedine Ounahi after solving two problem areas in the January transfer window.
Head coach Jesse Marsch has already brought in defender Maximilian Wöber from RB Salzburg and former Hoffenheim striker Georginio Rutter this month in what were seen as priority positions to solve at Elland Road.
The club are now believed to be assessing their options ahead of the transfer deadline with midfield believed to be the next area in need of recruitment.
And that area could take them to Ounahi, who was one of the stars of Morocco’s stunning run to the World Cup semi-finals.
Sporting director Victor Orta has been a fan of the 22-year-old for some time according to the Yorkshire Evening Post but the club will face competition from Serie A league leaders Napoli for his signature.
A bid is yet to be officially placed for the central midfielder who has been at Angers since 2021, making 48 appearances for the Ligue 1 club.
