Leeds United could move a step closer to making their first signing of the summer this week.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who report that the Whites are preparing a £250k offer for talented young Carlisle United winger Liam McCarron.
Premier League side Wolves are also understood to have expressed an interest in McCarron but Leeds are reportedly hoping to tempt him to Elland Road with the promise of more regular playing time.
Derby County and Sheffield United have also been linked with a move for the 18-year-old in recent weeks.
Speaking last week, Carlisle director of football David Holdsworth said: “We have received interest from a number of parties regarding both Jarrad Branthwaite and Liam McCarron.”
Marcelo Bielsa is understood to be hoping to have some new signings through the door by the time Leeds return for pre-season training next month.
McCarron made 20 first team appearances for the Cumbrians last season, registering one assist.
