On Thursday, Leeds United were able to get their replacement for Kemar Roofe, landing Arsenal starlet Eddie Nketiah on a season-long loan in hopes he’ll be able to help them achieve promotion to the Premier League.
However, according to Football Insider, the Deadline Day deal did not come cheap.
The report goes on to state that Leeds will pay the entirety of the 20-year-old’s wages, which are thought to be in the range of £35,000-a-week.
In addition, it’s believed that Leeds have also paid Arsenal a loan fee of over £2m, bringing the total cost of the deal to around £4m.
With Marcelo Bielsa’s side willing to cough up that much dough for one season of Nketiah’s services, we’re certain that the young talent will not be spending the season playing second-fiddle.
