Leeds are exploring the viability of bringing Manchester City misfit Kalvin Phillips back to the club this summer.
The Daily Mail’s Sami Mokbel reports that the Championship outfit are keen on an initial loan move for the holding midfielder.
But Phillips’ potential return to Elland Road will still be heavily dependent on their ability to secure a Premier League return.
The 28-year-old is said to be open to rejoining his hometown club should they make a swift return back to the top flight next season.
City are understood to be holding out for a £30M fee to part with Phillips, who has struggled in his time with the European champions.
He joined West Ham on a half-season loan in January but has struggled for form in a situation mirroring his spell at the Etihad Stadium.
Daniel Farke’s side currently sit just one point off the Championship’s final automatic promotion spot.
