Leeds United ‘find themselves in a mess’ as they continue to search for Jesse Marsch’s successor, journalist Dean Jones has told GiveMeSport.
The Whites are currently without a permanent manager after relieving Marsch of his duties at Elland Road following a seven-game winless run in the Premier League.
Leeds chairman Andrea Radrizzani tweeted on February 7th that the club hoped to make an appointment the following morning, but their efforts to do so have been in vain so far.

Knockbacks in their pursuit of Carlos Corberan, Arne Slot and Andoni Iraola led to the west Yorkshire outfit releasing a statement which revealed that first-team coach Michael Skubala is set to remain in temporary charge for the foreseeable future.
“Leeds United can confirm Michael Skubala will continue to lead the men’s first team for the club’s upcoming fixtures,” the statement read.
“Paco Gallardo and Chris Armas will carry on supporting Michael, alongside the backroom team already in place.”
Former Ajax boss Alfred Schreuder was also said to be in the running to fill the vacancy at Leeds, yet they have decided to target alternative options as they look to give themselves the best chance of avoiding relegation.
When asked by GMS about Leeds’ managerial pursuit, Jones disclosed that he believes the club have got themselves into a difficult situation.
He said: “Obviously, they find themselves in a mess here. They've had targets, they failed with them for different reasons, really, and now they have still got an interim manager just sat there.
“So, I think that we will soon know what the fallout from this is going to be because the Leeds fans are a noisy bunch, and they’re a loyal bunch, and they will demand answers about what's going on here.”
So far, Skubala has led Leeds to a draw and a defeat in consecutive games against Manchester United before succumbing to a potentially damaging loss at relegation-rivals Everton.
Next up is a pivotal clash against Southampton, who are also managerless at this moment in time, and then an FA Cup fifth-round clash at Fulham.
Leeds will surely want to have a permanent figure in charge as soon as possible, and the result against the Saints may have a significant effect on who is willing to take the job.
