Speaking to the Men in Blazers podcast, Adams said: "Training is intense. Obviously training sessions under Jesse (Marsch) in general usually get a bit feisty. He loves that competitive nature and I love that as well."

Just a few weeks into his Leeds United tenure, he was on the receiving end of a strong challenge from fellow team-mate Mateusz Klich, bundling the American over into a heap.

The new arrival knew there was no hard feelings behind the challenge and is now used to a 'typical Leeds challenge. "[On getting taken out by Klich] It was just one of those moments in training," he continued.

"It wasn't even bad I can promise you that. Nothing happened before that he was just a little bit angry in training that day and I got the brunt of it.

"Honestly, if something had happened before that had got me heated or mad before that I would have reacted in a completely different way. It came from nothing and I just knew he was frustrated.

"It's a typical Leeds tackle on a Tuesday. Sometimes you've got to get the week started in the right way but it didn't start off right for me."
