Leeds United are on the verge of completing a double deal to sign Norwich City full-back Max Aarons and Tottenham Hotspur defender Joe Rodon, claims The Athletic.

The Yorkshire club are in advanced talks with their Championship counterparts to sign Aarons, who has one year left on his contract at Carrow Road.

The 23-year-old progressed through the youth ranks at Norwich before becoming an established first-team member.

He has spent the better part of a decade associated with the Norfolk club, but his time with the Canaries is set to end this summer.

Leeds are close to securing a permanent deal for the England under-21 international, who is poised to reunite with Daniel Farke at Elland Road.

Aarons was part of Farke’s squad that helped Norwich win promotion to the Premier League twice and could play a vital role in Leeds’ push for a top-flight rebirth.

The Englishman is a recognised right back but displayed his versatility for the Young Lions after helping them win the U21 Euros while featuring on the left side of the defence.

Leeds are confident of finalising the transfer, and Aarons could be their fourth summer signing following the arrivals of Karl Darlow, Sam Byram, and Ethan Ampadu.

Spurs centre-back Rodon is also set to join Aarons at Elland Road. Leeds have reached an agreement with the North Londoners to take the defender on a season-long loan.

The 25-year-old spent the last season on loan at Stade Rennais but only managed 22 appearances across all competitions before returning to Spurs.

Ange Postecoglou is keen to revamp his backline, and Rodon is not in his long-term plans. The Welsh centre-half will spend the coming season at Leeds and could be pivotal to their push for promotion.

Farke’s side have lost captain and central defender Liam Cooper to injury for eight weeks following their 2-2 draw against Cardiff City last weekend.

Leeds are keen to wrap up Rodon’s signing ahead of Saturday’s trip to St. Andrew’s Stadium, where they will take on Birmingham City.
