The 23-year-old is departing the Bundesliga to further his career, with ESPN stating that he will fly to Leeds in the next 48 hours to complete his medical and sign the contract.

Adams is a key target for Leeds boss Jesse Marsch, as the two worked together at New York Red Bulls and Leipzig.

He is the replacement for new Manchester City signing Kalvin Phillips, who left Leeds this summer.

Leeds also signed American forward Brenden Aaronson from FC Salzburg earlier this summer.
