The Football Association (FA) have announced that Lee Carsley has been appointed as new manager for the England Under-21s.
Carsley – who had previously worked with Manchester City, Birmingham and England U20s – will replace Aidy Boothroyd who left his role in April.
Ashley Cole will join the 47-year-old as assistant manager alongside his work within Chelsea’s Cobham academy.
The duo’s first game in charge will be a European Championship qualifier against Romania in Bucharest on September 3.
