After six years and 20 goals in Alsatian colors, Lebo Mothiba leaves Strasbourg at the end of his contract.

In his first season — in 2018-2019 — Lebo Mothiba finished as Racing’s joint top scorer in the league (9 goals, tied with Ludovic Ajorque). He also won the 2019 Coupe de la Ligue, notably scoring an incredible double in the semi-final against Bordeaux (3-2).

Held back by injuries and spending time on loan with Troyes in 2021-2022, Lebo Mothiba nevertheless scored three times during each of the three other seasons in which he featured in Alsatian colours (in 2019-2020, 2021-2022 then 2023 -2024).

Since 2018, he played 96 matches with Racing in all competitions; the South African striker scored 20 goals and provided 5 assists.

“I would like to thank Lebo for the six seasons he spent with us. He is a very good striker who scored important goals, notably those in the semi-final of the Coupe de la Ligue in 2019. But he is also a man with an impeccable state of mind, who has always given everything for the club. He never gave up, even after his major injuries. He is an irreproachable role model with exceptional human values,” said, Marc Keller, President of Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace.
