For the first time since 2011, Milanisti can say – Il Milan è Campione d’Italia!

The Rossoneri finished the season in first place, with 86 points (+2 more than Inter) and if there’s one player who won the Diavolo the most points, it’s Leão.

Leão had the best season of his career, scoring 11 goals and assisting 10 more (including 3 assists last night alone!) and his incredible form won him the Serie A MVP award.

“I always do my best to help my team, but the most important thing is to win,” the 22-year-old told sportmediaset. “This year everything has changed, I feel like another player with more confidence and more responsibility to make a difference. I’m really happy. What clocked in me? I’m a different player as I’ve already said, because I feel the confidence of the team and the fans. The most important thing was reaching the objective of the Scudetto, even if I didn’t score a goal or an assist.”

Speaking to DAZN, the Portuguese winger said: “This year I’ve been a different player, I have more confidence and I know I can make a difference. The most important thing is having won the Scudetto.”

On his objectives: “I’ve scored 11 goals in Serie A. I’m not a selfish player but I have to become more concrete. I will become one with work and training.”

On Theo: “Who is faster between us? We haven’t raced each other on speed yet. Theo is a train, he is an incredible player.”

On the Rossoneri team: “In some games we lacked a bit of maturity. But people like Ibra and Kjær have passed on their experience to us. This team of young people showed that on the field age doesn’t matter.”

On the future: “I’m fine here. I’m happy at Milan and in Milano. I arrived here very young, everyone has given me great confidence. Let’s see what will happen.”
