Rafael Leao spoke to the media ahead of tonight’s Coppa Italia final and stated that he would like ‘to bring joy’ to the AC Milan fans. Indeed, it’s a big chance for the Rossoneri to experience some glory.
It has been a very disappointing season for Milan and while winning the Coppa Italia won’t make up for that, it will go some way at least. For Rafael Leao, and some others stars like Theo Hernandez, it’s also a chance to show that they can perform in the big moments.
Speaking to MilanTV ahead of the game, as transcribed by MilanNews, Leao made it clear that Milan have a chance to bring joy to the fans. He also stated that they must play with no pressure which, admittedly, could be difficult in a final.
On the team’s form…
“It’s been a week with maximum focus, the group is doing well. It’s a title that we’ve been missing for a long time, a very beautiful stadium, many fans and it’s a very nice evening to bring joy to the fans.”
On the importance of the game…
“The best thing for a player is to take advantage of a final. Playing our football without pressure, then everything comes.”
Leao was suspended in the ‘rehearsal clash’ against Bologna last week, so perhaps he can bring the x-factor tonight and surprise Bologna. He got an assist in the first leg, so it’s certainly not unthinkable.
