The January transfer window is well underway as League One clubs look to strengthen their first team squads this winter.
The battle at both ends of the table is quite intense as we start the second half of the campaign.
Several clubs are all still hoping they can achieve promotion to the Championship, while others are aiming to fend off relegation to the fourth tier.
The January window provides teams with the chance to make improvements and changes to their squads for the remainder of the term.
This could have a big say in determining who goes up and who suffers relegation at the end of the season.
Bolton Wanderers are in the market for new additions this January, which led to speculation that the Whites may look to sign Josh Onomah.
However, according to The Bolton News, the League One side is not on the club’s radar.
Bolton had monitored the situation surrounding the player prior to his exit from Preston North End last summer, but they are not set to pursue a move for the 26-year-old.
However, Blackburn Rovers’ Niall Ennis is a possible target should he become available as the club also looks for a new forward.
But Luton Town’s Joe Naylor is not being considered.
According to Sky Sports, Wigan Athletic have set their sights on a move for Ross County’s Yan Dhanda.
Dhanda is in the final few months of his contract with the Scottish side and could be available as a free agent in the summer.
The Latics will face competition from the likes of Hearts, as well as other unnamed English sides.
However, it remains to be seen whether a move will be agreed this month or at the end of the season given his contract situation.
Dhanda has been with Ross County since 2022, having signed after departing Swansea City at the end of his contract with the Welsh outfit.
The playmaker has earned a lot of praise for his performances in Scotland, and is a product of the Liverpool academy system.
According to Football Insider, Derby County, Portsmouth and Bolton Wanderers are all eyeing a move for Ronan Hale this winter.
The trio of League One clubs face competition from Peterborough United, Blackpool and Wrexham in the race to sign the Irishman.
Hale has impressed over the last 18 months with Northern Irish side Cliftonville.
It is believed that scouts of several sides have been keeping tabs on his progress, and a move for the playmaker could now be on the cards this January.
Meanwhile, Football Insider has also reported that the League One promotion rivals Bolton and Portsmouth are also both interested in Callum Lang.
The pair face competition from Derby for the ex-Liverpool youngster.
The forward is currently under contract with Wigan Athletic until 2025, but the Latics’ financial issues may force their hand into agreeing to a deal this window.
