Tottenham Hotspur’s Troy Parrott at MK Dons to complete his medical for a potential move

Journalist Mike McGrath of The Telegraph (Subscription Required) has updated Troy Parrot’s status at Tottenham Hotspur. McGrath revealed that Parrott is at MK Dons, completing his medical. The club wants to sign the player on a season-long loan.

The report suggests that Tottenham are looking to bring another striker to support Harry Kane, rather than replace the Englishman. It adds that the club were looking at Danny Ings.

However, the arrival of Fabio Paratici has broadened the club’s options. Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic is mentioned as the priority signing in the attacking position. 29-year-old Simy Nwankwo is another option on the club’s radar. (h/t The Telegraph) [Subscription Required]

On Troy Parrot

Troy Parrott is a product of Tottenham Hotspur’s academy. He has progressed at a steady pace to represent their reserve squad and appear for the senior side.

In September 2019, Parrott made his first-team debut for Spurs in an EFL Cup game against Colchester United. Subsequently, he made his Premier League debut a month later. Parrott was a second-half substitute in Tottenham’s 5-0 win over Burnley.

Former Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho did not shy away from praising Parrot. The Portuguese urged the youngster to think that he belongs with the first team, rather than playing with the under 23’s.

Millwall signed Parrott in 2020. The player left Spurs on a season-long loan deal. However, due to his complicated injury status, he was recalled by Spurs in January. He made 14 appearances for Millwall.

Troy Parrott spent the second half of 2020/21 season at Ipswich Town.

  • Crotone’s Simeon Nwankwo is on Tottenham radar
  • Lorenzo Insigne set to reject a move to Tottenham Hotspur

Parrott was then sent on loan to Ipswich Town for the rest of the 20/21 season. If he does move to MK Dons, it could mean more playing time for him, which would go a long way in his development if Spurs see him as a future starter for the senior side.
