Miami, FL (Friday, November 1, 2024) – Concacaf has confirmed the schedule and venues for the 2024 Concacaf Central American Cup Final. The two-legged Final between LD Alajuelense (CRC) and Real Estelí FC (NCA) is scheduled for November 27 (first leg) and December 4 (second leg) in Estelí, Nicaragua, and Alajuela, Costa Rica, respectively.
LD Alajuelense advanced to the Final after defeating Guatemalan side Antigua GFC 1-0 on aggregate in the semifinals. The champion of the 2023 edition began the tournament in Group B and completed a perfect group stage with a 4-0-0 record. Alajuelense then eliminated Comunicaciones in the quarterfinals prior to their victory against Antigua. It is the third consecutive year in which Alajuelense will appear in a Concacaf Competitions Final.
Real Estelí FC returned to the Final after overcoming Costa Rican side Herediano on away goals following a 2-2 aggregate draw in the Semifinals. The 2023 runners-up began the tournament in Group D and completed the group stage with a 2-1-1 record. Real Estelí then eliminated Salvadorian side CD Águila in the Quarterfinals before their semifinal triumph against Herediano.
Fans will be able to enjoy the 2024 Concacaf Central American Cup Final through the Confederation’s TV partner networks, including FOX Sports (USA-English), Fox (Mexico-Spanish), and ESPN | Star+ (Central America, Caribbean, and South America), and Concacaf’s YouTube channel (subject to territory restrictions).
According to the competition regulations, to determine the host for the second-leg Final, Concacaf has ranked the two finalists based on the total number of points they have accumulated in the competition, with the highest-ranked club hosting the all-decisive second-leg match. The winner of this regional competition will be crowned as Central American Cup Champion and will secure a berth in the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup Round of 16. The runner-up, two losing semifinalists (Antigua GFC and CS Herediano), and two Play-In winners (Deportivo Saprissa and FC Motagua) have also qualified for next year’s Champions Cup and will begin play in Round One.
The 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup – the 60th edition of the competition, is shaping up to be historic, as some of the region's top teams have already secured a berth. The competition will start with Round One in February, followed by the Round of 16 in March, the Quarterfinals and semifinals in April, and the single-leg Final on Sunday, June 1.
