Lazio’s Reina Has Lowest Save Percentage Out of All 20 Starting Serie A Goalkeepers | OneFootball

Lazio goalkeeper Pepe Reina has the lowest save percentage out of all the current starting Serie A goalkeepers.

As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the 39-year-old Spanish goalkeeper has conceded 25 goals in the first 14 league games of the season, out of 52 shots on target. This makes his save percentage only 59.6%.

Reina‘s 59.6% save rate is the lowest out of all the current starting goalkeepers in Serie A. The only player lower is Jeroen Zoet with 55%, although he was dropped after the seventh game and has not played since, with Ivan Provedel replacing him and impressing. The goalkeeper with the best save percentage is Napoli’s Davide Ospina, who has saved 84.4% of the 32 shots on target he has faced.

The Lazio goalkeeper also has one of the lowest post-shot expected goals minus goals (PSxG+/-) allowed stats in the league, with -3.7. This essentially means that he has shown a below-average ability to stop shots, with 0 being the average based on the quality of shots a goalkeeper has faced.
