Lazio’s red card against Milan an act of karma after controversial goal vs. Inter

AC Milan’s game against Lazio got very heated as the home side were handed three red cards, with especially the first one making them lose their temper. As highlighted by a few, however, the Biancocelesti can have no say on the matter.

Luca Pellegrini received his second yellow card after bringing down Christian Pulisic, stopping a promising attack. The issue, however, is that the left-back wanted to let the ball go out due to an injury for a Lazio man. Pulisic didn’t see this, thus playing on.

Lazio were furious about the decision and their defender, and former Milan man, Alessio Romagnoli labelled the decisions of the referee as ‘scandalous’. As highlighted by Mediaset, though, Lazio can have no say on the matter as they scored a goal whilst Inter’s Federico Dimarco was down on the ground (in 2021).

The Nerazzurri players were calling for the ball to be played out, but Lazio played on and scored a crucial 2-1 goal through Felipe Anderson. They ended up winning the game 3-1 and it was certainly a game-changing moment, with no sign of the ‘sportsmanship’ that Lazio are shouting about then either.

If they wanted to stop the game so badly, Lazio should have just put the ball out of play and not tried to let it run out.
