Inter are looking at Francesco Acerbi as a possible low-cost defensive signing given that Lazio could ask for less than €4 million as a fee to sign him.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, who report that the Nerazzurri could turn to the experienced defender who has already worked with coach Simone Inzaghi given that he would not require much of an investment to sign.

Inter are still keen to make one more signing before the summer transfer window closes, with the objective being to sign a central defensive option who can take the place of Andrea Ranocchia as the backup to Stefan de Vrij.

While Borussia Dortmund’s Manuel Akanji is now the priority for this role, the aim is to invest as little as possible in this final signing given that there is little in the way of a budget for another defender.

Lazio would be asking for less than  €4 million for Acerbi, so he could end up being the player who the Nerazzurri move for.
