Lazio winger Felipe Anderson tried to secure a lucrative multi-year offer from Saudi Arabia but ultimately rejected a proposal before accepting Palmeiras.

The 31-year-old Brazilian forward caused a stir in the transfer market earlier this month after confirming his intentions to leave the Biancocelesti and join up with Palmeiras on a free transfer, upsetting Juventus, who were allegedly just a step away from a deal.

Felipe Anderson has struggled to show his best with Lazio this season, netting five goals and providing seven assists across 46 games, but has been an important part of the squad during his second spell in the Italian capital.

As detailed by TMW, in recent months Al-Shabab emerged to register their interest in Felipe Anderson, who asked for a contract worth €10m net per season. The Saudi side were only willing to offer a €5m salary with a further €5m in add-ons, a proposal that didn’t convince the winger.

As such, Felipe Anderson rejected the idea and eventually agreed a deal with Palmeiras, allowing him to return to his native country.
