Reports from Spain have linked Lazio with a move for unneeded Barcelona midfielder Riqui Puig.

Coach Xavi has reportedly told the 22-year-old Spaniard that he’s not been included in the club’s plans for the future, and with his contract set to expire next year, this summer seems like the perfect time to sell.

As reported by ES Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Lazio are one of many clubs keeping a close eye on Riqui Puig, considering a possible move this summer. One of the teams competing with the Biancocelesti for the 22-year-old is Gennaro Gattuso’s Valencia.

Puig hardly featured in the season just gone under Xavi, making only 15 La Liga appearances for a total of 474 minutes. He has an estimated market value of around €7 million but could likely be signed for a lower price considering his contract situation.

Luis Alberto has been linked with a move to both Sevilla and Valencia recently, so Lazio are keeping an eye on a number of midfielders as they line up potential replacements.
