Lazio are looking to sign Inter midfielder Matias Vecino during the January transfer window, though they could find doing so difficult due to financial reasons.
This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who report that the Biancocelesti are targeting the 30-year-old but could struggle to accommodate a move for him given their issues with the liquidity ration.
Vecino’s contract with the Nerazzurri is set to expire at the end of June, but he could even depart before then given the limited amount of playing time that he’s received so far this season.
Napoli had been interested in signing the Uruguayan, while Genoa have also emerged as suitors for him this month and a number of clubs in Spain and England are also tracking the midfielder for during the January transfer window.
However, the Biancocelesti are also considering reuniting Vecino with head coach Maurizio Sarri, with whom he worked while at Empoli.
Inter would still want a fee of €2-3 million to allow Vecino depart before the end of his contract, and accommodating the fee and wages could be difficult for Lazio, but they are still serious in their interest.
