Lazio stars react to Castellanos’ magnificent rabona assist | OneFootball

Lazio forward Taty Castellanos was in fantastic form this evening, winning the MVP award thanks to a goal and two assists in the Biancocelesti’s 4-0 victory against Verona at the Stadio Olimpico.

It was Lazio’s first home victory in nearly seven months and they overcame their opposition in style to secure their first points of the season. Castellanos was particularly stylish, however, setting up teammate Mattia Zaccagni for a goal with a rabona pass.

Speaking to DAZN after the match, with quotes via LaLazioSiamoNoi, Castellanos said “I’m happy. We worked hard for this match and the group did an incredible job. We have to keep going like this, the league will be long. My assist for Zaccagni? I always do it! When there isn’t a good option on the left, better to try a rabona [laughs].”

The Argentine was asked if he thinks it will be the most beautiful assist of the season, to which he replied “Let’s hope so! We have to aim for the highest possible position in the league, we know we have a strong team and we have to target Europe.”

Lazio midfielder Guendouzi: ‘Taty’s assist was beautiful but he can give even more!’

Matteo Guendouzi opened the scoring for Lazio this evening and also spoke to DAZN after the game.

On his goal, the Frenchman said “Scoring goals is very important for me. I’m a midfielder and I need to score more. Obviously the most important thing is the team’s victory, especially because it’s our first home win in seven months.”

Guendouzi also slammed the Biancocelesti’s performance in their season opener against Como, where they lost 2-0, saying “we played like children.”

Finally, the former Arsenal midfielder also praised Castellanos’ assist, “Yes it was beautiful,” but added “we need him even more. He can provide even more goals and assists.”
