Inter Milan are reportedly plotting a move for Nicolo Rovella, but Lazio would only consider selling their key midfielder for a truly lucrative offer.
The Binacocelesti signed the 23-year-old from Juventus on a two-year loan with an obligation to buy in the summer of 2023. The Italy international will soon complete a permanent transfer to the capital side for circa €20 million, but after establishing himself as one of the finest deep-lying playmakers in Serie A, he has earned himself a host of suitors in Italy and abroad.
Rovella has been linked with a host of Premier League sides as of late, including Manchester City, Liverpool and Aston Villa. But according to La Lazio Siamo Noi, Inter also have a keen interest in the player.

As the source explains, the Nerazzurri are aiming to inject some young blood into their midfield department, as Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Hakan Calhanoglu and Piotr Zielinski are all on the wrong side of 30, while the young Kristjan Asllani has yet to hit his stride. Therefore, Rovella represents the ideal profile due to his young age and proven competence.
Nevertheless, the source believes that Lazio president Claudio Lotito wouldn’t sell Rovella for anything less than €60 million, as he has already rejected offers from the Premier League in the region of €50 million.
Hence, Inter would struggle to fund this operation unless they cash in on their top midfield star, Nicolo Barella. An alternative solution would be to sell Davide Frattesi, whose market value is circa €35 million, and have Oaktree cover the deficit through a capital increase.
Finally, it should be mentioned that Lazio sporting director, Angelo Fabiani, has recently stated that the club doesn’t intend to reinforce their domestic rivals, so it remains to be seen if this statement also applies to the Nerazzurri.
