Lazio officials will take part in a pivotal summit at the municipality of Rome to present the Stadio Flaminio project.
The Biancocelesti have been sharing the Stadio Olimpico with their arch-rivals Roma for several decades, but the hierarchy are now keen on owning their own stadium, identifying the currently defunct Stadio Flaminio as their ideal solution. The club directors have been working on this project for several months, and are now ready to make their case in front of the local authorities.
According to Il Tempo (via Calcio e Finanza), Lazio president Claudio Lotito and his collaborators will hold a meeting with Mayor Roberto Gualtieri and Councilor Alessandro Onorato at the municipality of Rome in Campidoglio. The Biancocelesti host will present their project for the new Stadio Flaminio which should thus kickstart a series of long bureaucratic procedures.
Nevertheless, this meeting is considered instrumental in terms of setting the plan in motion. As the source explains, Lazio aren’t only looking to renovate the stadium, but also the whole area surrounding the playing ground. The objective is to render the neighborhood a hub for the Aquile supporters throughout the week, and not just on matchdays.
