Lazio have reportedly raised their offer for Cesare Casadei as they remain keen on sealing the deal before the end of the January transfer session.
The 22-year-old is considered one of the most talented Italian midfielders in his generation, but has been starving for playing time at Stamford Bridge this season, and has yet to make a Premier League appearance this term. However, his has now become the subject of one of the longest transfer sagas of the winter Mercato.
In recent weeks, Lazio have identified the former Inter Milan youngster as their priority target to bolster the middle of the park, favoring him over the likes of Reda Belahyane and Jacopo Fazzini. However, the Biancocelesti have been unable to find an agreement with Chelsea, and the same goes for the player’s other suitors, Torino and Feyenoord.
But according to Italian journalist Damiano Er Faina, the Italian capital side has now returned with a slightly improved offer. Lazio have seemingly raised the proposed transfer fee, as well as the percentage of the sell-on fee. The ball is now in Chelsea’s court, with the Serie A club waiting for a response in the coming hours.
Transfer market expert Nicolo Schira also weighs in on the situation, explaining how Lazio have offered €12 million in addition to a 10% sell-on fee while Torino put €9M + 2M as bonuses on the table, in addition 40% on the capital gain on the future sale.
