Lazio are seriously interested in Victor Chust and they’re preparing to open talks with Real Madrid regarding a possible deal.

The Biancocelesti know that strong defensive reinforcements will be needed this summer to shore up the backline available to Maurizio Sarri following the departure of Luiz Felipe and the likely sale of Francesco Acerbi, and Chust has attracted the club’s attention following his work on loan with Cadiz this season.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Lazio are preparing to open talks with Real Madrid at some point in the coming days, keen to secure Chust early in the summer transfer window.

Los Blancos reportedly want around €5-7 million for the 22-year-old Spaniard, whose contract expires with the club in 2023. Chust has already expressed interest in joining Lazio and the move seems like a good fit for all parties. Updates expected in the coming weeks.

Apollo’s Thoughts

Chust seems like a smart piece of business by Lazio. He had a good season whilst out on loan with Cadiz and his low price makes the move fairly low risk – especially when considering the anonymous Denis Vavro was signed for over €10 million.

The 22-year-old Spaniard is relatively comfortable with the ball at his feet and is happy pushing up the pitch, suggesting that he’d be a good fit for Maurizio Sarri’s system.
