Lazio is now planning to go all in to keep veteran defender Stefan Radu.
According to a report from Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Lazio has now submitted a new contract extension offer to Radu ahead of his impending free agency period.
Radu will be out of a contract on June 30, which will allow the Romanian defender to depart from the club as a free transfer.
Lazio has contemplated in recent months over whether to simply allow Radu to leave the club as a free agent or pursue talks to extend his stay via a contract extension agreement.
Biancocelesti officials have now opted for the latter, as the report added that Lazio president Claudio Lotito recently met with Radu to open up talks for a new deal.
Radu is also garnering interest from now-former Lazio manager Simone Inzaghi, who wants to bring the veteran Serie A defender to Inter Milan.
Radu may come to an official decision on this matter in a mere days.
Lazio well aspires to see its long-time defender stay put following the upcoming summer transfer window.
