Lazio legend Beppe Signori has been cleared to return to football.
The FIGC President Gabriele Gravina has granted a pardon to Signori after a trial found him innocent of match fixing allegations.
Signori had been accused of helping to 'fix' the game between Piacenza and Padova in October 2010, but denied the allegations and was fully vindicated when the trial finally reached a conclusion.
As it had been over 10 years since the match in question, he could have allowed the statute of limitations to expire, but he was so determined to prove his innocence that he waived that right and insisted on a trial.
"At the conclusion of the ordinary justice process, the President of the FIGC, Gabriele Gravina, granted a pardon to Giuseppe Signori in relation to the final foreclosure sanction imposed by the Sports Justice Bodies," a statement from the FIGC said.
