Lazio have reportedly set their sights on KAA Gent teenage winger Matias Fernandez-Pardo, as they continue to search the market for additional attacking reinforcement.
The Biancocelesti have introduced fresh blood to their squad after parting ways with longtime pillars Ciro Immobile, Felipe Anderson and Luis Alberto. The Italian capital side signed the likes of Tijjani Noslin, Loum Tchaouna and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru. Nevertheless, Lazio Sporting Director Angelo Fabiani is still determined to pull off more acquisitions.
According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Lazio are interested in signing Fernandez-Pardo. The 19-year-old started his career at Lille’s youth academy before returning to his home country of Belgium through the gates of Gent in 2020.
Last summer, the teenager earned a promotion to the senior team and responded by delivering eight goals and two assists in 19 appearances across all competitions. Fernandez-Pardo is a right-footed player who enjoys playing as an inverted winger on the left flank. This allows him to cut inside and aim toward the goal with his strong foot. He can also feature as a second striker.
The youngster’s contract with Gent is valid until June 2026, while Transfermarkt values him at €3 million. The winger has Spanish heritage but has been representing Belgium on the international level starting from the U15 team. He’s currently a regular feature for Belgium U19, scoring three goals in 10 caps.
