Lazio have kept three consecutive clean sheets for the first time in almost five years.

As highlighted by Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today, the Biancocelesti failed to take advantage of the weakened Atalanta squad in Saturday’s 0-0 draw, but there were still some positives to take away from the match.

Lazio have seemingly found some balance in their defence and they’ve now kept clean sheets in three consecutive games against Salernitana, Udinese and Atalanta, something they haven’t done since early 2017.

The last time that Lazio kept three consecutive clean sheets came between February and March 2017. Simone Inzaghi’s side won 1-0 at home against Udinese, beat Roma 2-0 in the Coppa Italia semi final first leg and won away over Bologna 2-0.

Lazio’s next match is against Vincenzo Italiano’s Fiorentina on 6th February, so the defence will have to work incredibly hard to deny in-form striker Dusan Vlahovic if they want to keep a fourth clean sheet in a row.
