Serie A giants Lazio have opened talks with Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha over a summer move, reports Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The Ivory Coast international is widely expected to leave the Premier League outfit this summer, having decided against renewing his contract, which expires at the end of this month.

Lazio have entered the frame for Zaha but will face competition from European giants Paris Saint-Germain, Atletico Madrid and their arch-rivals AS Roma for his signing.

PSG have been keeping tabs on the 30-year-old and may push for him after learning their top target Marcus Thuram prefers a move to AC Milan.

Roma have identified Zaha as a replacement for Tammy Abraham, who is sidelined with a long-term injury.

Zaha has reportedly turned down an offer from Saudi giants Al Nassr with the objective of remaining in Europe.

The Biancocelesti can use the Champions League as leverage to persuade Zaha, but it remains to be seen whether they can match the offers of financial powerhouses like PSG.

Maurizio Sarri needs more reinforcements to challenge for titles next season, and an experienced player like Zaha would be a good addition.

Mattia Zaccagni was one of the best players for Lazio last season, delivering goods from the left-wing position to help his side finish inside the top four in Serie A.

Zaha and Zaccagni will add more depth to the wings, and the former’s ability to play as a centre-forward will be an added advantage to Sarri.

Multiple reports claim Sassuolo winger Domenico Berardi is on his way to Lazio as their first summer signing, with a deal worth more than €20 million close to being finalised.
