Lazio complete Nuno Tavares signing from Arsenal | OneFootball

Serie A side Lazio have signed Nuno Tavares from Arsenal.

An official announcement on X from Lazio confirmed the signing of Nuno Tavares. The Biancocelesti paid €5 million transfer fees as part of the redemption process for the player to Arsenal.

The Portuguese was on loan at Lazio last season. He registered 30 appearances and nine assists across all competitions.

Tavares’ permanent signing is the first market movement for Lazio following the appointment of Maurizio Sarri as head coach of the club.

The 25-year-old has signed a contract with the Italian capital-based side for the next three years, until June 30, 2028.

Lazio are working on retaining their players this summer as they are hoping to make minor adjustments, if necessary, to their squad without spending big. Sarri has already been looking over the contract situation of Alessio Romagnoli, as per a previous report.

Tavares’ signing is set to be a big boost for Sarri as he aims to take the club to Europe next season.
