Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri has a poor career history against Napoli, losing more than winning.

As collected by stats provider Transfermarkt, the 62-year-old Italian coach has faced off against the Partenopei seven times in the past. In those seven games, he has picked up two wins, two draws and three losses, averaging 1.14 points per encounter.

Sarri’s first game against Napoli came in the 2005/06 season, when his Pescara side lost 2-0 in the Coppa Italia first round.

Two years later the Lazio coach faced Napoli again, with his Arezzo side securing a 2-2 draw in a Serie B clash.

Seven years went by before the Italian coach battled against the Campania side again. In the 2014/15 season, his Empoli side picked up a 2-2 draw away before winning 4-2 at home, his first ever victory against Napoli.

He would go on to become the Napoli coach for the following three years, playing an exciting and electric brand of football and challenging Juventus for the league title.

Sarri joined Juventus for the 2019/20 season and he failed to beat Napoli twice in three attempts that campaign; he won the home match 4-3, but lost the away leg 2-1. In the Coppa Italia final his side also lost 4-2, his most recent encounter with the Partenopei.
