Lazio are reported to be in intensive negotiations with Al Duhail to sell midfielder Luis Alberto for circa €10m.
The Spanish veteran had shocked everyone when announcing live on television that he had put in a transfer request and wanted his contract terminated by mutual consent at the end of the season.
Lazio President Claudio Lotito responded that he would only consider a departure if a suitable offer was made and he was thought to be asking for €25m.
However, Sky Sport Italia, Tuttomercatoweb and others suggest that Lazio are now discussing a sale to Qatari club Al Duhail for €10m plus bonuses.
Fabrizio Romano had also reported over the last few days that the player had agreed personal terms with Al Duhail.
This was rumoured to be a three-year contract earning him €8m per season including bonuses, practically double his current salary at Lazio.
Luis Alberto will turn 32 in September and first joined Lazio for €4m in the summer of 2016.
As part of that agreement, the Aquile also owe Liverpool a 30 per cent cut of his transfer fee.
