Fisayo Dele-Bashiru is close to a move to Lazio as the capital club continue their summer rebuild. The 23-year-old Nigerian could become new boss, Marco Barone’s third signing of the current window.
Sky Sports Italia reports that the attacking midfielder, who currently ply’s his trade in Turkey with Hatayspor, could arrive in the Eternal City on an initial loan deal, but with an obligation to buy at the end of next season.
Sky claims that Lazio’s initial interest was tempered by the fact that they were facing problems getting a work-permit for the youngster, but that that obstacle has been overcome and business can be concluded.
Dele-Bashiru grew up in the youth academy at Manchester City before joining League One side Sheffield Wednesday in the summer of 2020.
Hatayspor signed him as a free-agent last summer with a contract that expires in 2026. His next destination now looks set to be Serie A with his arrival in the Eternal City looking imminent.
