Lazio have received an important boost as medical tests ruled out any serious injuries for Matteo Guendouzi who has recently returned from International Duty.

The Biancocelesti were left to sweat over the midfielder’s condition who suffered a bruised toe during France’s 2-1 victory over Belgium in the UEFA Nations League on Monday. The club feared the 25-year-old had sustained a fracture.

However, according to La Lazio Siamo Noi, Guendouzi carried out the necessary medical tests upon his return to Rome, and the results provided a major sigh of relief for Marco Baroni and his technical staff.

Boost for Lazio as Matteo Guendouzi Avoids Fracture

As the source explains, the tests ruled out any fractures, so the player won’t be facing a long stint on the sidelines.

Nevertheless, it remains to be seen if the former Arsenal man will manage to recover in time for Saturday’s big showdown against Juventus. Lazio’s medical staff will be monitoring his condition closely in the next few days before deciding whether to call him up for the trip to Turin or leave him behind in Rome.

Guendouzi has cemented himself as a key figure in the middle of the park for Lazio this season, forming a solid partnership with Nicolo Rovella. But at least Baroni should be able to rely on Matias Vecino, who returned from injury, in case the Frenchman doesn’t recover in time for the clash against Juventus.
