Inter striker Lautaro Martinez will renew his contract with the Nerazzurri but it may take some time, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the 23-year-old Argentine forward, who is contracted to the Milanese club until 2023, is happy in Milan and will renew his contract with the club before the end of 2020.

The player’s entourage were in Inter’s offices in the summer and could have started talks regarding a contract renewal in that time.

The Nerazzurri resisted many attempts from Catalan side Barcelona over the last year, who have been incredibly keen to sign the 23-year-old to replace Luis Suarez, who left for Atletico Madrid.

One key point will be whether or not Lautaro’s €111 million release clause will be removed, the report continues, and a signed contract is not expected before December.

Lautaro has scored three goals and provided one assist so far this season.
