Lautaro Martinez has decided to accept a new long-term contract with Inter, extending his stay to June 2029, Sky Sports Italia reports.

The 26-year-old Argentinian striker played a leading role in the Nerazzurri’s historic charge to their 20th Scudetto under Simone Inzaghi this campaign, scoring 24 goals and providing six assists across 33 league matches, earning him the Serie A MVP title for the 2023-24 season.

Lautaro has just over two years left on his current contract with Inter, prompting the club to start working on a new long-term deal to tie down their star striker. His agent Alejandro Camano has been in close contact with the Nerazzurri’s directors to try and reach an agreement.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio and Sky Sports Italia, Lautaro Martinez has decided to prove his love to Inter by accepting their latest contract offering, agreeing to a five-year deal worth around €9m net per season plus add-ons.

Only the final details remain before everything is finalised, tying the Argentinian striker to the Nerazzurri to June 2029.
