In an interview with AFP transcribed by BeIN Sport, former France manager Laurent Blanc notably spoke about his future and reported links to the Manchester United and Barcelona job.

The former international defender, who won four Ligue 1 titles at the helm of Bordeaux and then Paris Saint-Germain, returned from a four-year hiatus in 2020 to manage Al-Rayyan. He notably has James Rodríguez, Yacine Brahimi and Steven Nzonzi under his management.

“[The links] are not relevant now. I’m here now. I’ve fought to have good players come here. I enjoy managing in Qatar. It’ll last however long it does – a year, a year and a half, two years or two months – I have no idea. It’s a personal journey.”

“It’s not a lack of ambition, it’s a reality. I am in Qatar and for now that’s all I’m interested in.”
